Standing on the Edge With Nothing Holding Me Back

Standing on the edge

people look like ants

scattering

everywhere

the view below is

astounding

the canal with small boats

and the grass so perfectly green

in the city of love

I...

stand alone

no one to hold me

I step closer to the edge

I let go of all my fears

at the top

of this tower

About the poem: I wrote this poem based on a memory. I stood at the top of the Eiffel tower as a child and I imagined many things. I didn't know how to express what I saw but I just knew it was amazing. Nothing compared to looking over the edge and seeing people looking so small and feeling so big. I couldn't believe my eyes in that moment and so I just took it all in and stood in awe. I also faced a fear and stood close to the edge so in that moment I overcame a fear.
