To the Underdog

To the superheroes who don't feel like they're enough.

To the underdog,

You’re strong and are worthy of more than any one man, woman, or child could ever offer you,

You see my dear, some heroes wear rubber suits and fight to save the world,

They all use some sort of power, be it money or the amazing superhuman strengths they were blessed with,

We all have a power somewhere deep in our heart,

My power, you ask?

To smile through the pain and wear that tear-stained cape,

That, my dear, is my superpower…

I may not fight for peace on Earth,

But I fight for the acceptance of my world, for my own peace of mind

I may not be drenched in money or have the strength of many men,

But sweetheart, I have the power to walk into the depths of Hell and still find reasons to smile along the way.

And it may be hard now, but when I’m done with this little stroll through agonizing despair,

I will see myself as more than those heroes everyone swoons over…

Love yourself with all the broken pieces

Save yourself and create your place in this world with your own hands.
