To My Future Self

If I were to write you a letter. I would say I am sorry.

I would open up with inspiring words to help.

Maybe more like phrases like, “I am proud of you.”

And some crazy ones like, “not to worry.”

You know how crazy that sounds. From me to you.

I set you back days upon days.

Maybe even weeks and months too.

I hope you forgive me for doing that.

I say not to worry because this you is strong-

She has been through many hurdles and that is a fact.

So never ever disappoint yourself.

Because this you worked hard and did everything wrong.

Be brave for me like I am for you and no one else.
