To My Children

We started out your Mum and I to spend our life together.

To make a go of family life with love that lasts forever.

No ambitious plans we could not keep just happiness was our goal.

And keep us safe from everything and bring nourishment to our souls.

Before long we had three girls, each one a pure blessing.

I thank the lord for what we have and what we have been given.

We tried to give you the best start in life at least the best we could.

It filled our hearts with humbleness, charity and love.

It's true at times we get things wrong, we cannot always get things right.

But we did our best that we could do, we tried with all our might.

So take to heart our thankfulness for being who you are.

You’ve made our lives so much brighter, to us you are a star.

We love you oh so much no words but can convey.

What you really mean to us, you’re precious in every way.
