To Know Me, Is Not to See Me
Life on the Streets

You pass them in the street.
If you only stopped for just a moment
and read between the lines, you would
know that I have a story to tell you.
You only have to ask me my name and my
story will unfold before your eyes, I dream
the impossible, but it may become probable.
You ask me what I knew, I said nothing of you,
Surely there is a lot to learn about you.
If you only allow me the time to know you.
To love is a human desire, to belong, to be held
and touched, to hate, is a human fear, of not
being accepted, to be left alone.
You may see me, but you don’t know me.
