Time

As Time Passes

When you lose someone, you lose a part of yourself.

Every candle you make a wish with, or every shooting star you see; It all won't feel worth it anymore.

The greater the loss, the deeper the wound.

That wound is what needs to be fixed so that we can become whole again.

After being hurt, we build up walls and barriers to protect ourselves from that feeling of pain.

Those defences allow nothing new to enter our lives.

We are stuck with the sorrow we drown ourselves in.

We spend days in pain, waiting to become whole again. There will be moments where the pain fades, and a bit of happiness peaks out;

But then we come to realize it, and it all comes flooding back. As the time passes;

We get lost in distractions; trying to bring our mind to something else.

We respond with aggression; because of all the pain built up inside.

We act out in frustration; because we are not in control of ourselves.

We give into anger; because that is who we have become now

As we were getting lost in distractions, we lost track of time. Before we knew it, the time has passed.

We are finally healed and ready to start over again.

The pain and suffering may be gone, and we have started to move on,

But that hole where that loved one once was is still there; as a reminder.

Always there for us to look back at.

To remember that we did it.

We got through it and survived.
