Time

My Greatest Enemy and Truest Friend

Perhaps you really aren't evil

But instead just slow to show

That the beauty you have given

Is one that most will never know.

You taught me that some laughters

Know how to fill my cracks

And the flood of tears within me

Lets me survive outside attacks.

You told me that my family

Is one my kids will never see

But the bloodline will have risen

To an ever-changing tree.

You've given me fragility

In the seconds that I lose

And astounding strength and beauty

In the ones I choose to use.

So I suppose that I could hate you

For locking up the past,

But the joys that you have given

Are more than what I could've asked.
