Tight Leather Jacket

A Poem

bruised bones

so attractive is my skin, you say,

but I'm barely attached to it

I'm falling out of it,

Like a lovers' jacket

except I am too small and it will never fit, the way I need it to.

Or, is it you that will never be big enough to fit into the jacket,

You're supposed to fit into the jacket, are you stupid

why won't you change what are you doing wrong?

Everyone else fits in the jacket

everyone else fits their skin why is yours loose why is it falling apart being scattered in the lonely

hearts of lost minds in a bed that isn’t your own,

but feels so familiar.

So attractive is my skin, you say,

though you say it as if you wish it weren’t mine.
