Thrown Away

A Poem of Anger

You finally did it

Got your way

Ran the gamut

And I’ve got to say

Here I sit

Blown away

You’ve taken a family

Torn it apart

Done so craftily

Ruined it from the start

Your game realized rapidly

But not in time to depart

What did you have to gain?

Was it worth the hurt?

How can you live with what you’ve done and still stay sane?

The energy you’ve had to exert

All that to prove that you can cause us pain

You won

You got your way

Now it’s done

You don’t have to stay

Just know that once you’re gone

You’ll always regret this day

About the Creator

Amanda Abbey

I love to read and review books...books take me to a happy place to escape the real world for just a little while. I also absolutely love to write poetry and tend to write most when I’m upset or stressed. It’s another form of escape for me.
