Through Our Eyes, Hear Us
A Poem About How Messed Up Society Has Become and How We, the Citizens Who Suffer, Feel
In this democracy
It seems to be
Full of bull shit and hypocrisy
Keep running your mouth
Just spit it out
What's your point to be?
You're just telling me
That I can't be free
I can try
But before my time
My heart must bleed.
Pour it out
To not be heard
Your ignorance to us
And greed for higher power
It's absurd
Why should we
Yes the the people
Have to suffer?
It's okay
Take your time to answer
I'll sit and wait while you stall and start to buffer
Thinking up your next excuse
Seems you've already tied the noose
Fuck the war
Let's make a truce
Work together to stop the poverty and child abuse.
Just stop for a second and realise
See the world from our eyes
The negatives you prioritise
The truth you always demonetise
You seem to be demoralised
Leaving your country paralysed.
What the fuck are we to do?
We try
We fight
And it's back to shit
I'm a week or two.
I'm just saying what I see
Don't shut me down and silence me
Maybe it's time that you leave
But if you stay
Give us something to believe.
