Thoughts We Crave

How can you know when you're not the one?

The one who wants to be the spark we see in each other's eyes,

or the flair that I hear every time you speak.

I've learned that it can't be forced, so please just let it be.

We were all told that one day we'll find someone,

but what happens when that someone wasn't that one?

Was it all just a waste of time and effort,

Or was it all just to set us up for the future?

Is this what happens when you crave a touch without the care of who it was?

What am I worth when I can't even muster up a few words?

It seems like we're all just filled with emptiness,

even when we all thought we were alive.
