Those Southern Nights

She's as sweet as tupelo honey...

Nights like tonight call for a little bit

of Tupelo Honey and stargazing,

and getting high off of candid memories.

Remembering you here with me, I start

to reminisce for times I can't get back.

I taste the salt-chilled oysters on my tongue.

I hear your voice singing right along

to Morrison on FM radio.

My eyes stay fixed on the lustrous half moon

illuminating the porch when clouds move.

I don't know what it is about country

evenings and classic rock, but I miss you

more tonight than usual, and I hear

Roger Waters sing "Wish you were here..."
