This is Our Love

And the Twenty-Six-Year-Old Who Embraced it

This is our love,

a running mouth, a burning gaze, and just a pinch of genuine curiosity. That's how you get to me. I'll never witness such resilience in the reflection of your honey colored eyes, unless they're looking at me.

This is our love,

a coy smile, a pretty face, and just a drop of humor that mirrors your pain. That's how I get to you. My skin is brittle with open wires exposed to the darkness, unless its melting and forming electricity against yours.

This is our love,

opposites that lick their wounds with laughter, blowing kisses during thunderstorms and the intent of untangling the tragedies we wear so well.
