This Boy

Dark Version

There’s a boy who loves too hard

Yet he’s seen way too much

Broken down, nothing let

His eyes scream for someone

Yet no one listens to him or bothers to stop

They see what they want

They don’t want one of us

How can a boy who seems like enough

Be aching in pain and won’t wanna bluff

He cries in the night and screams out in pain

Yet we close our eyes and see nothing strange

Won’t turn back and look so it seems all the same

Yet this boy says no words

Doesn’t look like he’s lost

He seems to be strong but really everything is wrong

He says his okay, yet he’s dying in pain

Holding out his own hand

But all we see is insane

Why do we turn such a blind eye to him

It’s not like there’s a thing wrong with him

There is this boy that I’ve seen struggle

He kept up his fight even though it was rough

How can a boy that I’ve seen every day not ever cry

Out that he was in pain

There’s a boy that I knew

That loved way too much

But society turned him into nothing but dust
