Thirsty

I Crave You

At a loss for words,

When I'm with you

Leave me searching for more,

When you're gone

When did I get so thirsty

When did I let you hook me along

Was it the moment I caught myself gazing

For that half a second too long

Or the time I swear I could have kissed you

Your lips always looking so warm

Like I could have closed my eyes forever

And felt the only thing I desire

Our bodies mending together

Like a haven in a storm

Or a poem that inspires

A release of inhibitions

Of passions risen from a fire

A place where only our hearts go

To feel in any hour

All the things we're missing out on

Like talks that take away the hours

Or when you lay your head on my chest

So you can hear the skipping beats

And the way you take my breath

When I feel the way you think

I'm entranced by your touch

And your presence of mind

A beautifully spoken soul

Truly one of a kind

Nothing short a woman

You're a star in the night

Even amongst the city lights

Yes, so rare to the eyes

Like a midnight sun

With the grace of a flower

Baby you're second to none

Even when collapsing you're full of power

So I promise you,

The only time that it'll shower

Is when we want to grow

Reaching new heights and to empower.
