Things That Go Bump in the Night

Monsters

Sitting in my room,

As darkness creeps.

Shadows slither.

My fears increase,

As a noise comes forth!

A bump in the night,

The wood creaks,

As my closet door sneaks.

My nerves are raw,

As I see him.

The blackness flows freely,

Like smoke, throughout my room.

As the man, the monster,

Comes for me.

He comes to steal me.

I cannot scream!

I cannot breathe.

I am frozen with fear.

He comes closer,

The smoke's getting thicker.

I know I must run,

I know I must scream,

I know I must do something.

Something to get him away!

He is only feet away now.

His eyes are like fire!

They burn my skin!

I feel his hot breath on my face,

It smells like rancid death.

My fear is turning.

As my courage builds,

My fear turns to anger!

How dare HE try to steal me!

How dare HE try to capture my soul!

He is nothing but my creation!

As the smoke surrounds us,

I let my anger loose!

I let all my anger out into a loud,

Pissed off,

Shrill, scream!

My eyes closed,

My anger gone.

I shiver,

My skin has Goosebumps.

I am breathing hard.

As My eyes open,

I see nothing.

He is gone,

The blackness is gone.

I am safe.

I have faced my fears,

I hope you can too.

Just stay strong,

And don't let the fear

Control you.
