They'll Always Have Mexico

A Poem

She's a southern belle who's been through hellHides her pain so no one can tellShe still smiles through all her painShe's sunlight in a world of rainShe'll always have Mexico

She got away from the life she's knownA trip she'd normally never takeHer great escapeShe'll always have Mexico

He's a northern boy with a heart of goldGets home from work and he's all aloneHe still looks happy even though he's sadHe's sanity in a world gone madHe'll always have Mexico

He got away from the life he's knownA trip he'd normally never takeHis great escapeHe'll always have Mexico

Strangers til this morning, now it's nightHours spent talking underneath a Mexican skyDidn't do what they both wished they couldTime to leave, sad, but it still felt good. They'll always have Mexico

They got away from the life they've knownA trip they'd normally never takeTheir great escapeThey'll always have MexicoJust close your eyes and we'll goAll you have to do is think of me, and there we'll beWe'll always have MexicoThey'll always have MexicoThey got away from the life they've knownA trip they'd never takeBut it was fate

They'll always have Mexico
