These Tears

These tears of mine they tell a story

They hide the real me that is within

These tears of mine they say something about me

The struggle that I went through to become the woman I am

These tears of mine flow so silently on my pillow at night

They are a reminder of the struggle I went through

These tears I shed show the strength I had

I feel lonely without them, as they show my courage

These tears are heavy, yet they make me feel so free

I escaped the battle within my own mind

Climbed over all the obstacles that got in my way

These tears are the memories that I visit

From overcoming all of my worst fears and doubts

I am so much stronger now because of what I went through

So I welcome my tears when they fall upon my cheek

For without them, I wouldn't know what all I went through to get here

The place where I am now happy and so much stronger

These tears of mine have made me so much better

They made me realize that I can do anything and overcome

I am who I am because of these tears.
