There's Something in the Water

There's a pond in the back of my home. The water looks like glass today and I am all alone. I stare silently at the still surface, a sensation of serenity spills over me. I cannot see the fish beneath the opaque mirror that is the pond, but I know that they are there. I know because tiny ripples reach the rim of the pond and lick my feet, letting me know that a fish is near. I wonder how many fish lurk in the depths of the murky water. It must be peaceful living underneath this quiet pond where nothing ever happens. I wish to God i was a fish sometimes. Something large and majestic, elegant and graceful. Yes that would be wonderful. then i'm back and on land again, staring at my face in the surface of the pond in the back yard.
