Then I Met You

To a special someone.

They say all it takes is one moment. One special person to change your view on the entire world around you. I always thought that was a lie, but then I met you.

At first it was a small feeling that lingered when you were near

Not knowing what that feeling meant gave me a lot of fear

For being unsure if you could feel the same

Was a constant worry on my brain

I’ve already been in so much pain

It would hurt to lose someone so important to me once again

Something about you is different and unknown

But for some reason when I’m with you I feel like I’m home

You’re unapologetically yourself

And I’m glad, because I wouldn’t want u to be anyone else

My stomach does flips and whirls when u come by

I feel incredibly lucky to have met such a wonderful guy

But the truth is, you’re not mine

You are captured in some other girls eye

Swept away from what could have been

Once again I have to settle on being a friend

That’s not what I want

I want you.

And normally I backdown and don’t fight

But this time I think I have too

Not knowing what could be

Or where we could go

Is a risk I’m willing to take

Because I think we met by fate

So this is me asking you on a date

Don’t say no cause I’ve already made dinner plans and we can’t be late.
