My willow

Oh how strong you have become

From the ground up you have amazed me in so many ways

You have inspired me to become someone stronger

Someone that I'd actually want to be

The strength that has become you came from the pain that you have gone through

Your roots are what helped you be aware of what was going to happen

The sun that helped your leaves and branches grow stronger made you feel safe

What you didn't know was that the vicious wind would blow through your branches and leaves

Making you weary and aware that everything is not always going to be secure

So you went out to grow your trunk even stronger and your branches even longer

With that, you have become stable

You've learned to adjust to life rather than fighting it

And it has made you stronger to keep going

To protect the flowers beneath you entirely

We have become your complete priority

Through the cold winters and summer nights

You still amaze me with your courage and empathy

Yet our future still awaits...
