The Unheard Moon

The Hidden Beauty of the Crescent Moon

The moon sits silently on the mountaintop

It’s voice unheard on heights afar

Look past the light of the sunny drop

And hear the cry from an unhealed scar

The moon sits crying on the bloody sea

Its tear falls to whisper the ocean breeze

Just look, Can’t touch, just let it be

Unless you too become corrupt and freeze

Happy goes the sun so innocent and bold

A false beauty, unjudged and adored

You think its light will lead to gold

And yet we follow without the award

The moon dies resting on the broken earth

An outcast to the world that lost its sight

No longer can we measure one's true worth

Through the false vision of this golden light

The moon dies to the nothingness of its name

No stone or petal to mark its stay

Do you know who is to blame?

For the transcending light that was kept at bay.
