The Turn of the Night

A Bipolar Poem

The turn of the night is faster than before,

The night lasts long and the days just short.

But the cycle is quicker than it has been in past,

Sunrise comes slow but sunset so fast.

The turn of the seasons is quick and sudden,

The summers feel shorter but you know they’re still coming.

The winter feels long and the snow caves me under,

Wish the sun could break through clouds and rid of the thunder.

The turn of the tide is so abrupt now,

The quick change to up and the immediate down.

The turn of the weather is oh so simple.

Hot then cold but there’s never a middle.

The turn of her moods is sporadic and fitful,

No thoughts that she has are clear like crystal.

One minute she’s lively and one minute she’s hurting,

The turn of the times is twisted but certain.
