The Truth in the Dark

A Poem of Questions

I could write a million stories,

I could paint you a picture,

But you would still never see the emotions flowing through me,

I could look hurt and sad,

I can fake a smile,

All to know what it feels like,

What it feels like to be loved, to be happy, to have joy,

To know that someone wants me,

I don’t ask for much, I just wanna be noticed,

An greeting is worth a million words,

But not one is wasted on me,

I hate being alone but loneliness is all I greet,

I have to stare up at the sky to ignore the memories of you and me,

I try and try, but I can’t explain what you’ve done to me

I’ve been drowning, the waters are taking ahold of me,

But the darkness is calling, calling unto me.

I would answer in a heartbeat, based on what awaits for me,

A better place,

Just like what awaits in my dreams,

I stare at the sky, and cry to think of what it means,

I've been in the dark and through the trees to find an Answer, the truth, is this what It means.
