The Things We Do

(When We)

wandering through the day,

i can't get a break,

i can't go home.

dragging limbs and

my heart across the pavement—

i can't stand

when i cave in.

i can't help myself from crashing down,

hands on my heart,

hands on the ground.

it's been like this from the start,

you can’t save me now.

the things we do,

to destroy ourselves.

the things we do,

when we crash down.

the night is lonely here,

it belongs to no one,

but my anxiety and fear.

you won't believe what i’ve done,

or how far i've gone,

to forget who i am inside.

and even if i failed,

at least you know i tried.

been like this from the start,

you can’t save me now.

the things we do,

to destroy ourselves.

the things we do,

when we crash down.
