The Strong Survive Alone

It's never easy for single mothers but they stay strong to make it through the stormy weather.

Excuse me please, may I get some assistance? Standing in the public aid line with a baby on my hip and one running around me in circles. Yea I know it sounds crazy but what can I say when im a single mother. Struggling to survive and making sure I can provide for the mouths I gave birth to. Milk, eggs, cereal, medicine all comes at a price when you dont got no advice, no money, not even the baby daddy that helped you produce. It was all glitter and gold when yall was together but as soon as the test turned positive everything turned negative.

Reaching out to him was like a bad reception on a sprint phone. No calls no text messages not even his footsteps in the court room when you placed him on child support. Working hard, going to school, maintain your own hustle just to get by. You didnt know what to expect from the man you thought you loved. Every day you thinking and wishing he will walk through the door to say hi or drop off some pampers, wipes, even some milk just to support the kids he help make.

Prices rising higher and it's getting harder but you stil haven't given up. You continue to push as if it was your last hours in labor but harder than ever before. You turn those tears to sweat to show your kids you want nothing but the best. You show your kids love no matter how tough it gets. You stayed strong no matter how much support you needed. You survived the struggle that many can't beat. Even though your a single mother you made it through because the strong survive alone.
