The Storm Within

My Struggle

My heart and mind lay bruised and tattered from pounding waves on rocky shores.

I ride a constant wave of sorrow; can barely stand; wounds deep and sore.

Life's tides too high ; so fierce and strong; I fight so hard ; my mind is worn.

control now lost I spiral down; I look above no sky is found.

Around, around and down I fall; no one close by as trumpets call.

I pray that someone hears my prayers. I'm so alone; in complete despair.

Don't want my life to end this way. Please grab my hand and lead the way.

I try to touch but can't feel bottom; my scattered thoughts dark to the core. My body has become exhausted as my mind wages its internal war..

My spirit once again is broken; I can't give up can't show defeat.

Have you walked out from the ocean when waves are high and gale winds blow?

Forced to your knees you try to get up; you fight the pain; your movements slow. Your need to survive has taken over; you can't give up the shores in reach.

You dig deep down to revive your spirit; It's you yourself now in retreat.

Around, around and down I fall. No one close by to hear my calls.

I pray that somebody hears my prayers. I'm so alone; now truly scared. Don't want my life to end this way. Please hear my screams I beg and pray.

You're only left with but two choices; It's only you that can decide. You let the storm become your master and take your place at Hades side. The other choice it isn't easy but important choices seldom are.

To crawl towards your own salvation with bloodies knees; mind deeply marred. Determined you move ever forward; the pain so bad you're nearly there. With one last thrust your hell soon over. This battle won but left new scars.
