The Skies

A Poem

Here amoung the sky is where the world, goes to decay. I dare not say how I dare not say why.

My mouth feels dry my legs feel heavy and deep down I know I'm empty.

The sun is frozen and cold under the abuse its land and all I can do is stand on the beach sand.

My life is flashing before my eyes my lips are numb but I just hold my tongue.

Society's generation gaps might kill us all, our views so large and tall that it would be as wide as the great Wall.

All I can really do is look at the skies and gaze at the stars. Hoping our differences will not make us vain.

To be United is who we were meant to be justice for all, has become just fancy words, on a document. While, the old look to the past millennials look to the future.

Oh, look at that fancy gadget you bought while people have died and fought for your right to hold that ipone instead of being a slave.

But, still we cling to that cellphone. In fear we will be alone. Blind by social media and power have we become the thing we once hoped would not be true.

Until then we look to the skies and wonder why.
