The Singing Bird
A poem only the rejected will understand. The human race has been singing since existence: black people, when they were enslaved, the LGBT community when they were told they were not for this Earth, and women when they struggled to conquer the battle of equality. This one is for you.... All of you.

An angry bird,
Kept in a cage,
Flies up and down,
Voice full of rage.
Sings with its soul,
And its whole heart,
The world's ignorance stings like a dart.
To be a bird,
Kept tucked away,
Whilst dreaming of a better day,
Where people wake,
And finally see,
This singing bird should be set free.
But how the bird roars powerfully,
Knowing its freedom will never be,
It dreams about a life outside,
Flying high, up in the sky,
As other birds relish in open air,
Moving freely, without a care,
The caged bird tries to understand,
Why free birds won't give him a hand,
But knows their ignorance is not to blame,
For if he was free, he would do the same
