The Silence

I sit in the loud silence of my mind

I sit in the loud silence of my mind

Because whatever we aren’t saying, we’re thinking

My mouth is a loaded gun,

Unaware of the damage it can cause

It’s easier to let my thoughts eat me from within

Than to throw a punch I can never take back

The judge of anger has no mercy

And what you say can be held against you

It’s not about guilty or innocent

Wrong or right

How do you get the last word if you have nothing to say

It’s not about winning when you don’t even want to compete.
