The Sea Won't Defeat Me

As my feet slowly drift into the water,

I begin my path to self destruction.

The flood pulls me in;

attempting to drown me in my sorrows.

Waves of pain wash over me..

I struggle to stay afloat.

Swimming is my only choice,

sinking is not an option.

The tide is getting stronger now,

but not as strong as me.

The ocean may be cold & deep..

but I will survive.
