The Sea Dragon

I think that, little sea dragon, we might just get along.

A small unsightly fellow,

with wings of kelp-like fringe,

with a body tainted yellow

and a belly fit to binge.

A snout so very dainty,

and a tail so very strong,

I think that, little sea dragon,

we might just get along.

I plunged into the water,

so deep and dark and wet,

I tried to find a dragon

that I hadn’t befriended yet.

I’d travelled to the mountains,

And deep below the earth,

I’d met many dragons

Of quite substantial girth.

But this tiny dragon,

Who lives deep in the sea,

Was the only dragon

Who I could never see.
