The Rules
This helped me get through my prison term.
Don't ask too many questions
Don't count all the seconds
Just know that every minute your alive is a blessing.
Work a good job from 10 to 10
Recognize when a win is a win
Dont take anything from anybody because that's one of the biggest sins.
Stand by the man beside you
And he rides you ride too
But don't get stuck in some shit that neither one of you can drive through.
Get your money up
Only buy whats enough
Take it easy on yourself don't let your time be rough.
Don't believe those who get loud
That tough guy shit is a shroud
It's not cool to be up front, stay in the back of the crowd.
Only give whats been given
Pretend you don't see what's hidden
And if he doesn't fuck with you or vice versa then good riddens.
Read the good book to receive light
Workout your muscles day and night
Make sure your mind, body, and spirit become one and are tight.
These are the rules, well mine anyway. I use these as tools to get through everyday. Until I am able to walk through the gates, I pray that my troubles reduce by the day.

Stuck in Place
Amy whistled as she walked through her front yard, looking for any sticks she could pick up and throw into the pile she and her brother were making. They had a big windstorm recently; as such, all the trees in their yard had suffered some damage in some loss of sticks. Or perhaps losing those sticks was a good thing since their trees probably needed to be pruned anyway. Amy wasn't sure.
