Battling demons
Is harder than most expect
Chasing the dragon trying to escape
Living day to day
Aint as easy as it seems
All the money in the world
Can’t take away the pain, burdens, and guilt
Dreams often deferred
Losing everything in sight
Burying the problems
In pills, needles, and cocaine
For a temporary high
Just to feel alive
It all begin so innocent
Until it got out of control
In order to function
Needed more, more, and more
Knowing the risk
Pushed aside to maintain
Until that fatal dose
No longer in pain
Free from the hurt
Free from the pain
Free from the addiction that took over my brain
