The Poor Man's Philosophy

"The Human mind..."

The Human mind

A million different brains all differently wired

Creating what we call Humanity.

Yet somehow within this world, Humanity has become less perceptible

The good die young,

And the bad die old

Yet somehow within this world, Humanity can unfold.

The rich grow more needy

And the poor grow selfless.

While the rich ones are too busy investing in self-interest

Those one the streets who served our country become more distant.

Some will give you their last dollar

While others will look you down as if you're smaller.

Morals are weak and compassion is bleak

While a poor man's philosophy

Struggles to be noticed, constantly.

Day in and day out

Some days will start with a dollar in a hand for some,

For others, it ends with a last dollar being taken away

and Left by nothing

But his empty hands splayed.
