One must stop and ponder
At the precarious frailty of life
The brief and fleeting moments
Of endeavoring to survive
There is more to life yonder
That’s the cliché always heard
Homo sapiens eagerly await with expectation
To feel the hope that one phrase stirred
Amidst the raging harsh turmoil
The human heart yearns for peace
Anticipating merely an impossible wish
That all pain and war would cease
Battling the fiery life tempests
One encounters the storm at sea
Crying for the day to approach
When one can ultimately be free
