The One

Love Poem

He spotted her down the hall

Shouting and waving, she ignored his call

He felt the love at first sight

But she ran away putting up a fight

There was a sparkle in her eyes

That could read all the lies

A beauty with a glimpse of sorrow

But holding onto hope for tomorrow

She’d been broken too many times

Because she fed into too many lines

Her mind had grown tired and weak

But her heart kept trying to seek

Love is all she really wanted

Cursed of pain, she felt haunted

Feening for a honest touch

Never thought it was asking for much

He grabbed her attention

Her beauty hard not to mention

Gazing into her eyes

Begging for no goodbyes

He caressed her arm

Promising her no harm

Not giving up to win her heart

To be only his and never apart

Not wanting to believe his word

Her mind and heart were so blurred

Testing if his words were true

She gave it some time until she knew

He pieced back the shatters of her heart

Knowing the love was real from the start

She never thought this day would come

Until he came along and became the one
