The One

You Needing Me or Me Needing You

Breathe, he's real

Imagination in true form

Height of the tallest tree

Cocoa brown skin tone

The smell of royalty with high cheekbones

a voice deep and smooth like 1920s blues

Hands that are gentle and brash

One false move and those hands will kick your ass

The walk is strong every step to be heard

His movements are swift like a hummingbird

I fell

You caught me

I rejected

You stalked me

Words were sweet like honey

Bold and fearless

But…

You lied

Your breath became thick like a humid summer night

Your voice sounded like thunder on a rainy cold night

Your blues was your depression

I said no

You said yes

I no longer needed to put you through the test

I was blind and naïve

After all, that was said and done

You finally realized you lost The One
