The feeling of momentary tranquility that is brought to us by the brilliant minds of musicians, past and present, has helped encapsulate some of life's most beautiful, most distraught, and most enduring moments.
On busy byways there are idle eyes
Of the tired road-rashedy bystanders
Who point with their thumbs in the direction of their yearning
In restaurant-bars lay the confused and vicarious underdogs
Who poison themselves just to kill an old memory
By cash registers in giant corporations
Are the dead-eyed masses
Who have long since forgotten their God
But inside my car there's only a soul
And the sounds from the greatest musicians
Who passed long ago though their feelings linger on
Through their sounds and my own emotion
