The Monster Within

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

The monster appears to all. He does not care your age or race.

He is an equalist of fear and fright. He is the reason of your nightmares.

Stealer of life. Thief of childhoods.

He creeps in the core waiting. Eating away at you until he sees his opportunity.

Like a knight facing a dragon, you must also duck from the fiery grasp.

This monster has no face of his own. His face is those of his victims.

If you beat this monster you wear your scars for eternity.

Gone but not forgotten he lingers still. Haunting your mind forever.

Making family moments seem like previous gold.

Though he has no face, he has a name. his name is…

Cancer.
