The Monster

Death has no mercy.

In Loving Memory

Little girl, small laugh, big heart, and a great smile

We grew up together and I called you mine

Swimming pool summers, go-karts, and memories made

How I loved our relationship and our talks

We'd fight, and the monster would come out

We'd make up like nothing ever happened

That's what siblings do

We grew up, moved out and became moms

Promises of college graduations and bright futures

Like darkness in the night dressed like a robber, you were stolen from us

I blinked and the monster took you

Babies without their mom saying I just want to go home

Innocence and the love between mother and children the monster took that

The rain wouldn't stop pouring will all that you'd been through

Darling, it doesn't rain forever, and the sun was about to shine

Everything changed when the monster made its last stop taking your soul from this realm unto the next
