The Mind Of A Stranger

Everyday Lifestyle Poems

Each and every one of our minds work in a unique way and is personal. This page is dedicated to introduce the reader to two perspectives when faced with one circumstance. The girl with the glass of wine is an immobile scene depicted by two different mindsets. It is for the reader to create a third one based on the two given below.

The Girl With The Glass of Wine Part 1

She sits on her own with a fixed gaze facing

her reflection from behind the bar,

legs crossed and arms likewise

whilst one hand holds a cigarette

and the other a glass of wine.

The glass is translucent

just as she is

It is half empty-

Or half full.

She looks up

pale skin, dark hair, twitching her fingers.

Those free from

the toxicity of the cigarette,

Obviously

Her posture is a work of art

Followed by her choice of wardrobe

And personality

Hidden behind the dark red lips.

Addicted to the taste

Absorbing the essence of a meaningless life.

The Girl With The Glass of Wine Part 2

Look at that woman

the one sitting on the chair,

she was looking at us,

we should buy her a drink.

Chat up a bit, she is on her own after all.

Nah, she seems like trouble

Why don’t YOU talk to her then?

Because I don't trust it.

You don’t even know her.

You can tell that by her posture,

Knees crossed

Arms crossed

She doesn’t want to be disturbed.

Well, you can still get her a drink,

Besides who is to trust?

She holds the only drink that will

Clear her sorrows.

I am not the one to remind her

Of them.

Trust is the only

means of being destroyed.

you give your trust to someone

you are vulnerable

A woman such as this one

could destroy it.

D'you recon?

She is craving for the thirst of another.

Well she is a woman.

You are right she IS a woman but

solitude is sometimes best

than to face a reckless

half-twit like you or me.
