The Middle of Nowhere...

A Poem

The Middle Of Nowhere

I was walking through the fields as the sun came shining through the trees.

I heard the sounds of birds and crickets singing as I cherished the forgotten summer breeze.

Seems this past winter lasted forever, I don’t think I’d ever felt so cold.

Or been so lost within myself, wondering how it’d all unfold.

I didn’t know where I was heading then, I don’t think I do today.

But there is one thing I do know that I’ve discovered along my way.

Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of no where.

But sometimes in the middle of no where you find yourself.

Life can be an ironic pantomime.

A comedy so tragic watched by everyone else as we live through the mine.

The silent play, the actors pretend.

Does real life start when the drama ends?

You feel like the falling forgotten star.

The big screen reject, no one cares who you are.

I didn’t know where I was heading then, I don’t think I do today.

But there is one thing I do know that I’ve discovered along my way.

Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of no where.

But sometimes in the middle of no where you find yourself.

I created the persona, we played our parts.

Just two innocent victims of adolescent hearts.

There were many looked at you when our spotlight faded...

While I was the unworthy hero baring a heart so jaded.

I followed the road signs for the lost highway.

While the ghosts of yesterday tried to get in my way.

I had to leave all the baggage behind so I loaded the car.

I began on foot following a simple wish upon a star.

I didn’t know where I was heading then, I don’t think I do today.

But there is one thing I do know that I’ve discovered along my way.

Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of no where.

But sometimes in the middle of no where you find yourself.

My simple wish was to discover the truth.

Which someone somewhere stripped from me.

I had to discover myself.

Just who was the real me?

I began my search then, I am still on my way...

I am not the man I was but I sure as hell am happy today.

I didn’t know where I was heading then, I don’t think I do today.

But there is one thing I do know that I’ve discovered along my way.

Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of no where.

But sometimes in the middle of no where you find yourself.
