The Merry-Go Round
The Magic of Being Alone
It starts off slow and leisurely. Slight bobbing up and down, up and down. Those who fear a fall hold on tighter as it picks up pace, nervous of the lack of enclosure. Eventually they will feel as free as those who do not fear, the magic of the wind in their hair, the world around them distant and far away making them forget their fears.
There is something solitary but comforting about the experience. No need to talk, no need to think. Just enjoy the ride, silently sharing a bit of magic with those around you. Strangers, friends. Children, adults.
Enjoyment builds at the same rate as the speed. People on the ground turn into a blur of unknown faces, but everything onboard remains clear and in perspective. You gain perspective. It is why you enjoy it so much.
Since a child, finding moments to escape the noise and just be has been your deepest desire.
Moments like these are like a reset button. The ability to take a full breath, to clear your mind, to be quiet and alone.
