I sit I read, I sit I think,
About the life of a man on the brink,
I sit I think, I see myself,
Being crushed by depression's touch,
I sit I read, I sit I think,
About the man and what he dreamt,
I sit I think, I see myself,
Dreaming of success or crippling debt,
I sit I read, I sit I think,
Did the man think of what comes next,
I sit I think, I see myself,
my family lost without me there,
I sit I read, I sit I think,
The man’s sorrow has taken hold,
I sit I think, I see myself,
The struggle pulling me back and forth,
I sit I read, I sit I think,
The man has gone, his soul set free,
I sit I think, I see myself,
With all the treasures that life has dealt,
I see my family,
I see my friends,
I see a love inside myself,
I see that darkness has to be there,
For without it happiness is without compare.
I sit I think, I see the man,
And wish I could have comforted him.
