The Love of My Life
Loving us as much as we love him.
The love of my life.
A tiny creature covered in black fur.
Tiny white socks.
A thin white blaze on his nose.
And a chest of white fur to match.
Curled up on my lap.
Eyes closed.
Throat vibrating with purrs.
Sun streaming in through the window.
This furry black creature
Is the first to find it.
Curled up, drinking in
The warmth of the rays,
Soaking in the light.
This furry, loving creature
Following me around,
Talking to me in his own language,
Loving the smile that spreads
Across my face as I look down at
The love of my life.
This small cat, full of love
And admiration for
His forever family,
Loving us as much as we love him.
