The Loss of You

A Poem

Screaming, yelling

That’s all that remains

A memory of you

Nothing but a faraway dream

I wish that’s all it was

A dream; or maybe a nightmare

You left me alone

With an agonizing feeling

One that wouldn’t go away

It was dreadful

I longed for your return

But in the end one must forget

But I will never forgive

The holes in the wall

Never been covered

Another reminder

Of the tantrums you threw

Constant fighting

You had to always be right, never wrong

I was left with a feeling of desperation

Despair

I wanted to feel love again

But only by you

I didn’t understand the pain

The anger

The evilness

All that was hidden inside your soul

We were two people,

Always in a battle

A constant war of love

But you didn’t love me

That was clear.

And I was left to sit

To ponder what I did wrong

You are now just a distant memory

Nothing more than an old nightmare

Never to return.
