The Lonely Beauty

A New Acceptance

What a night!

Watch a woman put makeup on

She can be the most beautiful disaster

Performing the most seductive processes.

Balancing the imperfect but natural with the enhancement of art.

Covering up what she never wants anyone to see.

"You look beautiful as you are." I said to her reflection.

"And this is why I never let people stay with me."

"They ruin your personal time you reserve to get fake?"

"Basically."

"I feel special."

"You should."

It was balmy in Chicago when I left her place, unnaturally so. Was unnatural making a comeback? On global scales, not just personal trails. I laughed to myself. I didn't have extra time, but the time I had was enough to play total recall. One night stands in strange lands were typically not my thing but when the makeup is done just right saying no seems wrong.

"What's your name, what's your size, does your body hide a prize?"

"Speechless... my name is speechless." I could not hide my smile as that was the cheesiest line I'd heard in a while.

"So your place or my place?"

"This is my last night in town so..."

"That's the best kind of night. Grab your stuff, let's go."

The Uber became too steamy,

Our palms became so clammy,

Her kisses were so wet,

My mouth was no longer dry,

We used the doorway as a crutch,

Her words earlier were no lie.

The stairs she used to bait me,

Each step I used to chase her,

She smiled in delight,

She was the most amazing sight.

Her couch became a prop,

Never once a thought to stop,

our fingers entwined,

On her naked body, I dined.

For hours we made no words,

Only satisfied sounds

Until at last, she relaxed under me,

We drifted off calmly.

Three hours later... sunlight illuminated the cobweb in the corner of her 4th-floor place. Shade marked its territory in the corners and across the ceiling where the sun tried to chase it away. Her body was warm and tan and I could have laid there contentedly and read her like a book all morning long. With not a care in the world... "SHIT!"

I sat bolt upright and her slack body fell back beneath me with a moan. As she pushed her hair out of her face...

"What!?"

"I have to catch my plane."

"Oh yeah, that." She shrugged. "Well, last night was great. Thank you and I'm sure you can find your way out."

Her makeup was gone, her hair was a mess, and the sunlight danced across her skin. I so wanted more. She walked casually to her kitchenette grabbed an apple and went to take a shower. I searched her place for all my clothes, scattered and flung, in every odd place. She emerged, apple in hand, wrapped in a towel and sat down in front of her makeshift dressing table and started painting her face.
