The Lights Go Down
But the stage is still set.

My artwork, available here.
Lights dim on another perfect evening
Seeing isn't supposed to be believing
Everything is going to be fine
The clouds will fade, the sun will start to shine
At least that's what we're fed when we are young
When we skin our knees but still know how to have fun
Gaps in teeth and mud on all our clothing
Soon replaced with tax forms and self-loathing
When do we stop knowing how to dream?
When do we become bill-paying machines?
With starry eyes but heads all full of lead
Don't let me forget the things I said
Please don't let me forget the things I said
