Affirmations are powerful tools for healing. I started writing haiku a long time ago. More recently, my growing interest in personal growth led me to align the haiku form with the personal affirmation.

This haiku is one example. If you enjoy the discipline of writing in the haiku form (traditionally 17 syllables split into three lines - 5/7/5), I suggest writing your own affirmation in the form of a haiku.

One technique I use to write personal affirmations is to take ten minutes to free-write. Free writing is writing down any thoughts you have without worrying about grammar, form, creativity, or anything really. Once I have all my thoughts down, I circle the powerful words. If some of the words are negative, I rephrase them into a positive to create an affirmation to deal with any issues that may be lingering in my mind.

Another technique I use to write affirmation haiku is to find a photo that inspires me and write a haiku about it.

May the peace and the light of the world be with you. Thank you for reading.
